Our Assistive Technology Scripting Process

Choosing the right assistive technology (AT) can make a significant difference to your safety, independence and ability to participate in everyday life. At Ganly Allied Health, our Occupational Therapists take a personalised approach to ensure the equipment recommended is appropriate for your needs, goals and environment.

1. Understanding Your Needs

Your OT will discuss your goals, current challenges and the activities you would like to complete more safely or independently. We’ll consider your functional abilities, environment, existing equipment and future needs.

2. Assessment & Recommendations

Your OT will complete an assessment and identify potential equipment solutions. We consider the features, risks, benefits and suitability of different options rather than simply recommending a particular product.

3. Equipment Trials

Where appropriate, we’ll arrange trials so you can test the equipment in your home or community environment. This allows us to make sure it works for you, fits your environment and meets your functional requirements.

4. AT Report & Quote

Following the assessment and trial, your OT will prepare the relevant documentation, including an AT report and supporting clinical rationale. Quotes and other required information will also be obtained.

5. Funding Application

We’ll assist with preparing and submitting the documentation required for funding approval, where applicable.

6. Implementation & Review

Once approved, we can assist with ordering, setup and education where required. Your OT can also review the equipment after implementation to ensure it continues to meet your needs.

Our goal is simple: the right equipment, for the right person, for the right reasons.
